I want to thank Betsy for this porridge recipe , I have used for the last year . The results have been exceptional to say the least.....I have ALWAYS used a combo of raw , kibble & lard..Since the addition of the porridge , energy levels have gone through the roof . muscling up a dog is much easier & it is cost effective ..Thanks Bets........Everything you need to make it can be found at Walmart : 3lb bag of BROWN rice $ 1.69.....4 Large sweet potatoes .55 cents a pound ......One large bunch of Collard or Turnip greens .99 cents a bunch ......Take a LARGE stock pot...peel the sweet potatoes & cut into small pieces...Chop the greens up ...pour in the rice & water in on top of it all. enough water to cover everthing ...bring to a roiling boil......reduce to a simmer....cover...let simmer for 1 1/2 hrs...stirring frequently.....let cool..Take a potato masher & mash it up....store in the refrigerator & use with in the week. Here's how I feed ....1/2 bones & meat ....1/4 kibble ....1/4 porridge ....2-3 table spoons of melted lard over the food . For pups I would grind up chicken thigh quarters , bones & all in a hand grinder . Then soak the ADULT dry dog food & mush that . Then mix accordingly ...

thanks for this john did try it for the pup but the lil shit still was funny
got some green tripe and he eats it like its going out of fashion so all is good at the moment
he is even eating the chicken better now as i think the tripe expanded his stomach a bit so he gets hungrier sooner and will try him again on the porridge in a few more days
the rest of the dogs loved it though
