Hello So for a bit now i have been posting occasionally and using the site as a resource. And thank you again for all the support I've received. My name is Carly. My husband and I got our Neo named Max who is 5.5 mos and is doing great. We live in MA and are just enjoying him so much. He is a big guy now at 95lbs but the sweetest and most loving creature i've ever met. I first saw the Neapolitan Mastiff while on Thanksgiving morning watching the Eukanuba Dog Show. Him and the Komodor peaked my interest b/c i had never seen either. I was trying to explain the Neo to my husband but its very hard too describe how cool there gait is or just how wrinkly they are w/out having a visual. So a few weeks went by and we happened to be watching a Harry Potter movie and when the dog Fang came home my husband made the comment on how that is a cool dog. I said "that is the dog I was trying to explain to you" So we both started researching the breed and the more i read the more I was drawn to them. We even re-routed a West coast vacation we were on to visit a breeder out in CA just to see the dogs in person and from there we knew we wanted a Neo to be part of our family. Enter Maximus (we call him Max, Maxy, Bubba, Maxy Jones and Love) and I think it took me just the first glance of his oversized head through the crate door when the airport employee brought him to me to fall instantely and ultimately in love. So here we are 3.5 mos later and I am so so happy that we made the decision to choose this breed. And I already cant even think about having any other dog.
Very Sweet, Carly. Sounds like Max has a very loving home. We are first time Neo owners, too. Our Zelda just turned 8 months. They are amazing creatures for sure.
Good luck with your growing puppy!

Hi Carly! Glad you are enjoying your mastino experience so much. Im just wondering when it will really get under your skin and one becomes two and then you think theres not that much work having a third and then you think theyd be better in couples and before you know it they have taken over your house, your life and your whole world!!!! But its such a lovely lovely world!!! I know there are a few of you nodding right now saying "Mmmmm I know what she means!" julie
