Hi All, My name is Megan and I am a Volunteer for Southern state Mastiff Rescue.
About a week and a half ago while at Miami Dade Animal Control to pull and English - I spotted a very sad depressed boy in the west wing, which is basically death row. He was very thin, covered in his own waste, and his eyes were in bad shape.
Although I know NOTHING about the breed, I pulled him and rushed him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a plethera of funk. From Bacterial infrections in his paws and ears. Hie eyes were also so bad. He had surgery Sat AM to remove one that had what I was told was called Diamond Eye and it was bad. The other eye can be saved, and we are keeping at the hospital so his medical needs are met 24/7.
I have not had any success with Neo Rescue locally - and I really do not have a place to Foster or adopt him once he is well. Any advice on the breed, or rescue would be so appreciated, I am just at a loss. I have attached Pictures os this sweet Boy who we have named Hippo.
