ok. i think i might have a better understanding. so its more like what you have defeated for BOB to be on top 25. so one time getting BOB and beating 3 and receiving 3 pts towards CH title can temporarily put you on the top list UNTIL someone one else comes along and trumps your numbers? so maybe she had 3pts, beat 3 dogs, and one BOB and that was more than whoever is at the bottom of the list? i am really trying to understand and get it right. so top 25 is more POINTS & BOB ranking and the other is group placements.

let use an example---DOG A is a recent champ but not on the top 25. she has won lets just say (cuz im not exactly sure on the number) 10 BOB and has beaten 25 dogs. why is a dog that may have only won one BOB and not a Champion "beating" this dog who is better and has went thru all her and the owner has went thru to become a champion. i feel that to become in the TOP 25 you must work to get to that spot and you shouldnt get a rank when its not deserved. you just dont "throw away" the other champions.
Lets say Tiger Woods. Awesome Golfer right (really i could care less). well before Tiger was ChiChi and Jack Nicholson. they were the greats they had accomplished more than any other golfer, wins, major wins, etc...now Tiger was a good golfer but no one put him in the rank with these "greatest golfers" until he PROVED HIMSELF. and now he is where he is. he put all of himself into the game and became the best like the others and beyond! and now is in the TOP Golfers Club ..lol
we have enough AKC Champs to be in the Top 25!!! if you look up the Dobermans or cockers or Labs NOT a one of them are not Champs. if numbers are what are to be beat then where are the other champions? why are they not included and non champs are surpassing them? do there championships not matter? or there BOB and dogs beat? then what is the point? you dont put yourself out there and get your dog to Champion status to not be recognized and overlooked by a dog who won once and took BOB once. some of the Top 25 have been to Westminster or invited, won or pointed at the Nationals or even the Eukanuba show. what happened to Traiano DFN? he was the ALL TIME winningest Neo...has someone beat all of his accomplishments? and BTW-- i know its not a secret but there are 3 dogs on the top 25 that are dead and are Champions and until someone gains status enough to surpass them in Championships and points they shouldnt be taken off but shouldnt be taken off due to a non-champion-one time win. this ranking should be for Champion Status Dogs only.
of course this is my opinion and thoughts. This seems unfair for the dogs working there tails off to get to where they are to be somebody in this breed. i know showing is alot of politics but numbers dont lie and 3pts, one win and one BOB shouldnt cut it and shouldnt deserve bragging rights until you have jumped thru hoops like the Neos before them achieving GREATNESS. If dog A had 10 BOB and 25 breed points and you say dog B has a higher ranking with just 1 BOB, its means dog B must have beaten over 25 dogs with his just 1 BOB showing, so his numbers are higher therefore he deserves to be placed higher.
The all-time winnigest Neapolitan is I believe "Bubba" who is not alive anymore I believe, and not even on the list. "Titan" the current #1 group placing Neapolitan is not alive anymore either, "they say" he passed a couple of weeks ago. Who knows!
Bubba is on the top 25, and was supposedly dead before the Nationals in April

I don't even look at this list anymore. Makes no sense to me how Gas was on with one point and one BOB win and Tavi isn't with an 8 pt weekend, with no BOB win. I know, I know, ya need the BOB win- but still. Kind of a backwards approach.
AKC CH really doesn't mean squat with a few breeders now just bringing their own dogs. Beating your son or daughter 10 times really shouldn't make a dog a CH. Or beating the same dogs repeatedly i.e. all in the same kennel. JMHO! _________________________ Nikki Agrippina Mastino
Its possible you are looking at the Eukanuba rankings which is from Oct,2007 to Oct.2008. The AKC rankings is from Jan.1 to Dec.31 08
If you saw Gas on the list with just 1 pt, it could have been early in the year where the list starts over and anyone can get on with a few points.
And about non-deserving Champions, the good thing is that everyone knows each other and one can respect a Champion who deserved it and we know the Champs who earned it the cheap way. There are mainly 2 kennels on there that ummmm
yes. i agree with who doesnt deserve it. i didnt know about Titan. i would have thought Thierry would have mentioned it since they are buddies. but that doesnt mean he isnt. Bubba "supposely" attacked his handler and they put him down. i also heard Centurian Nikeoli and Lucio "Latino" is dead as well. it is sad they are dead at young ages. Nikeoli is only like 2 and not even the bit typey.
i am not trying to put anyones dog dog that is on the top25. i am just rethinking this AKC CHamp thing. i am still going to try with my dogs BUT i am not going to look at this list.
Carlos DOG B is Centurian Mastini Crown Jewel. it just cant be explained. 3pt, 1 judge, 1BOB and she is not deserving to be on the list. others have accomplished more. Now i see whay alot of Main breeders are not caring about these ranking. it is a backwards approach.
