Hey Charina, IABCA is International All Breed Canine Association. You can find more information here Click me . It was more popular to show with them prior to AKC recognition. Since they have baby classes (3-6 months) I still like too show the pups with them and will take an adult too on accassion. The format is more of a European style. Young dogs (large breeds under 18 months) earn BA's and adults earn UCICB's, these are their points toward titles. The dog must get top scores to earn their points. The US judges are typically AKC judges and foreign judges are mostly Canadian. You have to show before at least 1 foreign judge to earn the international title. Their idea is to bring the judges to you rather then you having to travel to the other countries. Dogs are judges individually against their breedstandard to earn their points and are provided with written critques. That is why each dog is able to achieve theri titles at the smae show regardless of their placements. It is still an all breed show so for me the group wins and show wins as well as the opportunity to chat casually with the judges you are before is appealing. Please visit their site for further clarification. I recommend IABCA to any new exhibitors as well as novice puppies and dogs prior to entering the AKC ring. We alwasy have a fun, relaxed time at their shows (hence the jeans on the kids . ~Shani www.belladolcemastini.com
Thanks much Aj, Rocky, Jenna and Kate! We all know that this breed is one of patience.....but I do believe they are and will be very nice Mastini. I do so appreciate your support!!
The really nice thing about the IABCA shows is that each puppy / dog are rated seperately to the breedstandard. So is not like receiving points towards an AKC CH. They must receive so many top ratings by so many judges to get their Title. That does throw out the window stacking classes to get points. I do like the more relaxed atmosphere and I see they will be having a show in Salt Lake City in April. I will definitely be there!!!
