Unless this is a VIRAL meningitis it absolutley should show up in tests. Viral panels will show the most common viral agents so it would have to be a very rare organism if the cultures didn't show anything. Tell the vet you want a myelogram. This can give additional findings that may not show up on the MRI. Dog bless, McK
After every test the neurologist could think of, we didn't find anything. Ruby got to the point she would not walk, it was like she didn't have the energy. She had been on a high dose of steroids but still was not working. She got a skin infection that spread very quickly and compromised her immune system even more. Sadly, she passed away Dec. 4, 2008. She just didn't have the energy to fight anymore! Thanks to everyone for such support and offering information. Brooke
So sorry to hear this:( You went above and beyond what a lot of people would have done to try and help her. She is very lucky to have had such a loving family.
I am so sorry to hear this... My sincere condolences to you and your family Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow where they lead.
