Now, I am offically awake! lol I was so exhausted!
I had a blast! I will remember it forever, the show was a huge success.
I would like to sincerly thank everyone for participating and supporting the show, breed, club, and each other. Special kudos to Mindy from North Michigan, Sharon, Donna & Dan from NJ, Lena Moles, Sue & Brent from TX, Anthony & Josh from Md for driving extra long distances for the show.
We had a great turnout/little no shows with ofcourse 5pt majors on both sides. Not only was there a great turnout but there were so many good quality dogs which made the judges decisions very difficult.
There was many young promising dogs (males), but both judges seem to agree that Achille was to be Winners Dog both days. Achille bred by Santino(Italia) handled by probably the most experienced handler in the breed Jim Dep is a beautiful, large size, & well propotioned male, but was closely followed by Reserve Winner Ironwoods Roman expertly handled by his owner Susan who only needs 1 3pt major to complete his Championship.
The Bitch classes had many good quality females. The Open class was my favortie where any of the 6 entires could have won on any day. Well, on Friday, a beautiful well constructed & muslced btich Keeso Octavia handled by her exhausted owner Josh won the Open class which lead to Winners Bicth completeing her CH. Title. On Saturday, a virgin Anacronismo Rosamunda impressed the judge that he gave her Winners bitch, Rosamunda handled by her very nervous owner Luciano recieved their 1st points ever. Luciano did a killing at the show with too many prizes to hold and it was his 1st show of this caliber.
The Specials class also had a nice selection, it was great to see the incredible Bruno, Arturo, Prunella, Daphne and the others compete. I specifically remember hearing from both judges that they were all extremely impressive and wish they could give them all Best of Breed.
My favorite part of the show was probably the dinner, what a great bonding experience, imagine 40+ people with Dr. Sherilyn Allen sitting on a long table like Jesus and the last supper. lol We were there for almost 3hours drinking and eating pasta. It was great seeing everyone similing and talking about the breed, its a priceless moment we all strive for as Mastino fanciers. The employess from Carrabbas were knocked out cold after we left.
In the end, I would like to thank everyone for coming out, it was great seeing everyone again and meeting new people.
