well link i think listing males is more important due to people that already know they have a female carrying colour then looking for a quality stud that carries colour also.
I myself have a black female that carries colour and a blonde female and a grey male that carries colour UGM Admin
Don't they need to be a certain genotype in order to produce color? How do you find out what genotype your dog has? SHELLY IRONHIDE MASTIFFS Click This Link

Black has 4 genotypes Blue has 2 BBdd & Bbdd Mahogany has 2 bbDD & bbDd Both are recessive to black Tawny is recessive to all 3, which is why it is so rare
Of 4 Black genotypes, only one is capable of producing a Tawny. The other 3 will not produce Tawny pups even when mated to a Tawny. It is no more "Wrong" or "Risky" to mate a Tawny to a Tawny than it is to mate a Blue to a Blue or a Mahogany to a Mahogany. Again, they are both recessive to Black. Out of the 2 genotypes for both the Blue and the Mahogany, there is a 25% chance you will get a Tawny pup, both when mated to a Tawny. Only a Tawny to a Tawny will produce all Tawny pups. Pursuit & Demand will predict the future of this rare and elegant color. Ant My boy "Santino" Love the athletic Italian Bulldogs of the past. Happy to see many healthy examples here on this site.

I've only barely heard of anyone attempting to breed for color. With the rare few that come out in litter's of type then it would be a tough run to isolate color and retain the standard. Sounds like generations of really hard work and lotsa luck. The suprise occasion of Tawny and Mahogany puppy is really nice and I'm not so sure that a full blown line would be as widely accepted.
I'm with Gary and ccal, I love the Mahogany's too. I have two pup's one solid with a blaze and the other is full blown brindle and they gonna be some scary lookin dog's full grown. Bob Groh SW Missouri
If you know what the dogs littermates were and its parents colours you can guess sometimes. Otherwise its only known if you breed to a known dogs genotype and get or dont get colour. UGM Admin
Figuring it out is often based upon knowing (or speculating about) the genotype of parents and grandparents. It's helpful if there's a tawny in there somewhere, as that's a single genotype and let's you narrow down some possibilities for their get. It also helps knowing what parents and grandparents have produced regarding color. For example, knowing a blk dog has produced color can tell you his genotype.
There's a decent chance that my Ermes is BbDb, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Maia, Tes and Dora definitely have color in their backgrounds, and I am told that Romeo and Bella do also. So is it possible that they can throw color even though the colored dogs are 2 or 3 generations back?
Maia's mother is blue and was bred to a black for her last breeding and threw all colors. Can anyone tell me what Maia's chances would be to do the same?
