I know that because her mother was recessive mahogany bbDd and her father had to be Bbdd because there was all 4 colours in the litter she was born from and that her and all her littermates would be the recessive of their colours because its only possible to make all 4 colours (which also happen to be recessive) from a mahogany X grey if they both recessive.
Though if i breed her to my male who is recessive grey i can get all 4 colours but 12.5% will be dominant grey and 12.5% dominant black. 12.5% recessive mahogany and 12.5% tawny with another 25% each of recessive blacks and greys
so if she had 8 pups the statistical approach would be that 1 is dominant black 2 recessive 1 is dominant grey and 2 recessive 1 mhaogany and 1 tawny
If you breed a grey to a tawny and get all grey pups they however will all carry the gene for colour.
tawny to recessive grey will produce 50% tawny and 50% recessive grey
if so then its likely she has a 50% chance that she can produce blondes and greys if mated to a blonde male or 25% dominant grey 50% recessive grey and 25% tawny if mated to a recessive grey.
your previous post though you said that romeo may alsoi carry but the fact her litter was all grey probably means she is dominant grey. But I cannot be certain. UGM Admin
Garry I think that a public list may not be the answer....But I am certain that many people will be adding info to their websites about dogs carrying colour. Now that so many are interested. LINK Baby Blue Kennels
I posted the color chart one a previous posting for any who are interested in using it on there web sites or just PM me. Jonathan 'Jax' Johnson Lady of the Lake Kennel ..................let loose the hounds of hell and enemy prepare to die!
Hey Link , I just thought in light of the statements about some very nice blondes out there that owners of a black or blue male carrying color, would have been delighted to at least place the name of their dogs on a thread such as this to inform owners of blondes or bitches carrying color what was available.
