Welcome Carrie to UGM! I agree with Viktor as well, I traveled through England, Scotland and Ireland 3 years ago and EVERYONE was soo nice and accommodating, can't wait to go back!

I dont mind going to watch an odd show as a spectator but do not like to enter and prance around the ring. I did attend 3 ring craft classes about 3 years ago and did not even like those.
TBH showing for me from what i have seen is totally BS. Between the nasty and rude people you are competing against to the crazy judging whats fun about it?
I have seen results in Italy based on who was handling the dog. Others based on who bred the dog or who had taken stud from a male.
Here i saw group placings given to the members of teh club that were holding the following show.
Or results that made no sense the whole way through the classes.
Then you are putting your dogs up in front of different people and just like we see on here different people like differing types of mastini. You have the WHAM type, CC type, INBETWEEN type, The UK OEM Type, The USA Type Dutch Type etc etc and so depending on what the judge on that day likes the look of themselves is what wins.
So if you take the best dog in the world to a show and the Judge prefers the round, excessive skinned Em type then you have wasted a pile of time and money to get an opinion that does not mean squat.
