 Gary Travers... Bad breeding at its absolute worst. If you look like this PLEASE have yourself fixed or play in traffic immediately. The confirmation is all wrong... The expression on this old female can be likened to that of a pervert with palsy trying to draw a vagina on an etch a sketch. The wrinkle while copious is too thin and totally incorrect... The lack of muscle on this specimen is downright pathetic. This is definitely not breeding stock. The overall impression one gets from this individual is that of an old, weak, inbred redneck testing the very limits of the maximum load allowed for "depends" adult diapers before the breaking point. These kinds of breeding results should be culled at birth or at the very least fixed to ensure that the plethora of genetic defects will not be perpetuated. NOTICE As a result of a Trial Board or Event Committee determination the following individuals stand suspended of AKC privileges. It should be noted that these determinations may still be appealed and may be reversed. Upon expiration of the appeal process, an appropriate notice describing the status of the individual’s suspension, if any, will appear in this column: Mrs. Margaret P. Mickelson (Richmond, VA) Mr. Per Sersmyhr (East Granby, CT) Ms. Veronica Van Zandt (White Oak, TX) Mr. Garry Travers (Lownderboro, AL) Mr. Robert Pierson (Hamilton, OH Now, anyone who has dealt with the akc, and problems with breeders knows that they will always tell you, "we are a registry for dogs", so, they VERY RARELY discipline..... For this to have happened, Mr Travers had to have done something to really have the akc look at him and his practices. For myself, personally, he has attacked us here at Centurian on this forum. | Well... This is official documentation. I have, with MY own eyes seen this man buy an old and completely sterile Fortunado, made someone else pay for it and then "produce" puppies using sperm from other vastly inferior males to sell them as Fortunado pups for many years. The person who paid for Fortunado was made to believe that Garry paid half which was bullshit because Fortunado was sold for less than half the prize he swindled from that newbie he was using. All of Granny Travers Fortunado pups were sired by other males and sold for top dollar. This went on for many years even after Fortunado was already dead. I know for a fact that Fortunado was sterile at the time Gary bought him because I was thinking about buying the dog myself at the time. Sherylin Allen was completely honest with me and let me know that the dog had severe heart problems and completely sterile. This is why she was going to sell him for less than what one would pay for a pet quality Mastino. This is a testament to how honest this woman is. This also shows you how dishonest Granny Travers is. The man is a known liar and thief by anyone who has been in the Mastino scene long enough... Every few years he has to find a new place to live because people eventually get pissed off when they get taken by a lowlife like this one. I think it is time for him to move again... I purchased the dog over the internet. Gary Travers sent me pictures of a different dog or he hide the fact the dogs tail was deformed. I told him before I purchased it that I wanted the pup for breeding as well as a family friend. As the pup developed a new defect presented itself, only one testicle dropped. I wrote and called Gary Travers several times and he would not reply until I explained in a letter that I was going to take this to another level. At this point he had his wife call me a tell me he would replace the pup. It's now a year later and we are back to no reply. I consider this report the next level. David Williamsville, Missouri U.S.A. Garry Travers is a merchant who deals in Neapolitan Mastiffs In his advertisement in geocities website he states: “Thundermug America's Oldest Established Neapolitan Mastiff Kennel 25 Years of Experience." On his own website he writes: “Over the years we have concentrated on breeding and retaining soundness and substance". In conversation in 2005 he shared that he had 15 adult dogs. In September 2005 we purchased a Neapolitan Puppy for $3600. Garry Travers led us to believe that he was selling us a show quality puppy. He provided expressed warranty from defects: “Show Quality puppies are guaranteed against show faults The puppy we received was infested with flees, extremely malnourished and fearful. When contacted, he said that she did not have any flees and that he would sue the airline. We washed the puppy many times: the water was black with flees as if someone spilled pepper in the bathtub. She had severe wounds through her body especially in her legs and chest. There was a bump on her head. This is taken from notes of Monterey Animal Hospital: “History: Dog shipped in from Alabama yesterday (9-30-05) Owner quite concerned about health and behavior of dog. Elona has skin and behavioral problems. Exam: T=101 HR=130 SKIN: Infested with fleas. Generalized erythemic nodules – especially rear legs and lateral chest. Crusty facial skin fold dermatitis. BEHAVIORAL: Dog is fearful and growls when approached. Might bite. This is probably due to poor socialization during puppyhood.."She bit a male veterinarian and as of February 2006 she was seen at Ocean View Veterinary Hospital. On September 2006 Elona was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. From Ocean View Veterinary Hospital: "Elona" ... has sever hip dysplasia- This was diagnosed based on X-rays taken 9/1/06-She is having pain and weakness in her rear limbs-.signature of the doctor" Hip Dysplasia is a disqualifying condition for show or breeding. Garry Travers was contacted regarding the warranty and he agreed to send us one more puppy. He has not honored his warranty. When he is contacted he makes a promise, but does not go through. For example, in August 2008 he led us to believe that we would receive a puppy from his October litter. (In August he was selling puppies to other people) but in October he started ignoring us. (trying to run out the statute of limitation?) Elona died in August 2008 during a seizure. She had suffered from sever allergies, growths in her body (including brain), hip dysplasia and phobias. We will never recover from the loss. She was my baby and it breaks my heart to think how many 'babies' will die or died, how many are suffering. Elona had to be on medication and we did everything we could to make her life better. But not every family can afford to go to the vet every month for routine shots. Not every family will choose to go through the trouble and many sick dogs would be euthonised. Garry knew the effects of inbreeding unhealthy dogs due to being over 25 years in business of breeding and importing dogs and he consciously disregarded the obvious harm he created. He just simply does not care about dogs. The condition we got Elona tells me that dogs in kennel suffer sever abuse. To him dogs are only money. I am filing suit against him today. In CA small claims damages are $7500. As the transaction occurred on the phone and internet it is deemed that 50% of transaction occurred in CA: “If you ordered something over the internet, by mail or telephone, your local court will usually have jurisdiction, since your part of the transaction took place locally." Irina Monterey, California U.S.A. and RHL wrote ... sell's you a pup for 1 price , and then you send cash to him and he wants more $, and more $, then you get pup and not even 4 months later you have to put it down cause of cancer ,my one vet though it was a dog bite cause it was growing so fast but after 3 weeks on med's, and still growing I take to different vet and they find out its cancer and have to put her down then his wife say's they will replace , and Garry tells me to eat s**t cause I have not showed him pic's of my pup's Garry go play games with someone else , you’re a joke will post vet reports for all to see , then he tells me tonight that I have all my dogs in 1 run , ok Garry , and tells me what I have breed and witch dogs I have breed , are you just pissed cause I am selling the pup's I breed from your dog all as pet Q cause I am scared to past the cancer along to someone else , I don’t breed for money sorry Garry there to many of your kind all righty in this breed just breeding for cash , no care in heath now I know why you have such a hard time selling pup's now a day's, I wish Linda never told me about you and your dog's your a joke to this breed , for a guy that know's so much about some thing your sure not here to help this breed out     this was the vet report where they thouth it was a bite , boy were they off, they didnt think cancer cause dog was so young  [ Edited Tue Jun 02 2009, 06:56AM ] Mandy Lion | ||||

 | Suspended of AKC Privileges, must have been very serious for charges to be brought. There must be more to the story than just what has been written here. If found guilty though and if enforced this could make Thundermug stock worthless, unable to register the kennel's pups, unable to sell and/or use adults within the kennel. Some recent pups might have their registration taken away as well depending on the infraction. This shouldn't be taken lightly! | Exactly... People don't get in this kind of position just because it is tuesday... Plus there are tons of people out there who have horror stories about dealing with this guy. There are honest and reputable breeders out there. I don't understand why people insist on giving this guy second, third, fourth and I could go on forever chances. He is a rip off artist... For him to be suspended, it had to be really ugly. They don't say what it is, so I am assuming it has to do with treatment, or care. If you ever read these, they say if it has to do with behavior or registration. And I don't feel sorry for him. I have found him to be subversive, confrontational, unprofessional, and abusive.
