| You would think so but... This guy seems to always find some new victim clueless enough to either defend him, believe him or buy a dog from him. In my opinion anyone who defends a known scumbag like Travers is on the same level as he is. If someone watches injustice without taking action they are guilty. Defending the injustice is even worse. Unfortunately many people lack the character, intelligence and drive to make a stand. I am just glad to see that this site is willing to do the Mastino community a world of good by exposing this talentless hack. Mandy Lion | ||||

As you know, loyalty in this breed runs deep until a X person is the one whe gets shafted by X breeder. Seems that some will use threads like these like a leach to jump on, while they have their own skeletons to hide. Many accusations get thrown around based on hearsay, and not facts. Not saying that's the case with this thread as most posts seem factual, though it does happen with others. One thing I've noticed in my short time with this Breed is there isn't much objectivity. Its more like the enemy of my enemy is now my friend. There are many two-faced people involved with the NM who have double standards. It can be tricky to keep an open mind and sift through the fluff and rumors of things, because there are some very good and honest people striving to do the right thing. Fortunately not all people in the breed are like this... It is also hard to separate truth from fiction, and whats really sad is that good communities are split because of it! However, Looking at some of the stories Mr Travers is involved in, (which IMPO are too many and too frequent not to be true)... Apart from the fact he has proven himself neglectful of dogs in his care and earned a months suspension from the AKC because of it... What must be frustrating to everyone who has trusted this man is that the AKC continue to allow him to register his dogs despite the doubts that have been raised regarding the authenticity of his breeding program... If this is true, he is blatently and deliberatly putting the AKC into disrupute and making a mockery of the whole registration system! Surely that in itself is something they would have to take action against, otherwise everyone would be doing it, and what would be the point their sytem otherwise!!!  | I think it will be 100% true, and theres always breeders who are a s sholes that have there followers like in the uk, im sure if this guy is suspended from AKC theres no getting out of it, but the thing is they still deny it, each and every one of us will know of a "Filtered Word" breeder who continues to lie but you also know they have there followers, they treat them like some sort of GURU , i dont know this man so my opinion is unbiassed, now when its black n white that hes suspended from AKC what more do you need? And people will sook in his lies, good for them, let them find out themelves. The jealous are troublesome to others, but a torment to themselves! | |||

I totally agree with you Karen. Also... There really is no such thing as "thundermug dog". The man has never contributed anything to the breed. Can someone really call themselves a breeder if they get 2 dogs from other breeders, watch them mate and then sells the dogs as "thundermug" pups? To me a real breeder is someone that actually has a line... Someone that has done more than watch dogs mate. Very few breeders have created a look which one can distinguish from all others. Let's be honest here... Travers is not a breeder. He is a guy that leaches off of real breeder's accomplishments. He finds dogs, sometimes decent ones but more often than not sub par and then sells the offspring. That is actually what every backyard breeder does as well. How could anyone consider that breeding...? The man is a fraud... If he was in my line of work he would have been eaten alive many years ago. It is only in the world of dogs where people let thugs get away with murder. No punishment or a slap on the wrist is about as much as you see. But isn't it right here where people should be even more vigilant than in any other arena? If someone did business like this with human children the entire world would want to cruzify them. To me these dogs are more than a "thing you buy". To me they are children. This is why I think this guy should be exposed, punished and stopped. There are only three kinds of people in this world... 1) People who make things happen... This is the rarest kind of individual who actually does something when doing is required. 2) People who watch things happen... This is a much larger crowd of people who see bad people doing bad things and do nothing. 3) People who wonder what the "Filtered Word" just happened... This is the vast majority of people who are not just ignorant but insist on staying that way. These kind of people often get very angry when someone is trying to help or teach them something. I guess we all need to decide which kind of person we are and then live with the consequences. I for one will always call a spade a spade. Even if it makes me less popular. [/quote1246487730] Agree Mandy. True Breeders do strive to start their own line...but, in doing so they must be mentored and start with a line until it tapers off into their own. There seem to be a couple of true lines here in the USA people are working with, and I hope they stick with them. There are also some brewing overseas waiting to come over in a year or two. Mentorship is a key factor as some turn out to be not what they once were, but you still see the glimmer through the gray.
