We have a 2nd litter coming! Merlin and Maddie were bred naturally, just once(!), and Maddie is due July 13th.
Pics of Merlin:

yesterday, in the yard, Bill was barbecuing brats..... Merlin wanted a taste!

I need a little advice here, I'm being very paranoid, I know...
Maddie is HUGE!!! And she is over a week to go... the 63rd day is July 12.....
She is a picky eater always, and I have to fight to keep weight on her, (she is wormed regularly, and is on Heartguard), so no parasites!! I'll post pics, later, when Bill helps me figure out the computer thingie... I am constantly feeding her, and she is eating... I have been giving her half kibble, and half raw.... I am switching her to growth formula today, and she is on a good vitamin.. but I can feel her ribs, and her hipbones are sticking up a little... She tires easily, she is normally a VERY active, athletic dog, and she is trying to still keep up. The vet checked her today, her mucous membranes are nice and pink, her heart sounds good... She is physically ok, but I am still worried.. The vet said.... when I asked how many, " a lot."... I chose not to xray or ultrasound, because we are going to section her. And before anyone says anything about that, please, she is thin, and doesn't have the energy to sustain delivery of a lot of pups, and she has a LOT, I believe. Thanks all you guys for listening to my babbling...
She is my baby from before I met Bill, and she is very spoiled... I lost a dog at a very young age last year, and had a female that developed dilated cardiomyopathy during pregnancy, so I am neurotic about her....
Hey Anne, Why would anyone say anything about not x-raying or ultrasounding? I don't. It is one way to tell if they are definitely preggers, and your girl obviously is, lol, but it is still an estimate on how many. I'm sure she will be fine. Maia looked pretty crappy right before she delivered her 12 too. The more weight they have in their bellies, the more it pulls down and sometimes they look boney. It will go back into place when the puppies are out. Good luck. Can't wait to see 'em. SHELLY IRONHIDE MASTIFFS Click This Link
BLESSED ARE THE CRACKED FOR THEY ARE THE ONES WHO LET IN THE LIGHT!
I agree with Shelly, with the bigger litters you do start seeing bones sticking out on the girls, but after delivery it all seems to go back in place. I know you are worried to death Anne!!! I hope all goes well and you are able to post us some new puppy pics soon!!! Starrsdcct Neapolitans UGM Admin
Usualy, skinny cow, if well feed, are good milk producer(I work several years for Purina). I'm not a professionnal with dog whelping but I think you should not worried about it if you feed her well. Marie-Pier
