My Big Boy Blue was featured on a short community segment on ABC News here in Tampa Bay, Florida. The segment was about SPCA TAmpa Bay's Share our Shelter program. I bring Blue as a guest speaker quite often to the Share our Shelter programs to tell the story of his abuse, recovery and my fostering of him and ultimately my adoption of him. He did really well!! I'm so proud of him Here is the link. http://www.abcactionnews.com/content/positively_tampa_bay/default.aspx
The link wouldn't work for me either so I googled it and that worked.
Pam, thank you for taking him in and giving a "vicious" dog a second chance. He is absolutely beautiful and he previous owner did NOT get the punishment he deserved. Jessica
Pam, OOOO what wonderful things u are doing. I am sure u know that but I give u all my love for taking your wonderful boy in. He has the most deep to your soul eyes. He is in GREAT hands. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
Mastini are like chips thou, u may find yourself wanting another. My first was a rescue also, now I have 3.
Thanks for the good wishes. The leg with the pin in it gives him problems all the time. He throws his weight forward to get up from a lay. Do your guys do that or is it his weak leg? He only weighs 104 at 19 months. Doc says keep him skinny. I will try to post a couple of pictures. I can't figure out how to embed them in the post.
Hi Pam, What are you feeding?? Have you tried any supplements? Have you thought about feeding raw?
We have our Rudy on 100% raw food. He had multiple issues, and now...... is doing wonderfully. I am truly a believer. I have found personnally that glucosamine chondroiten compounds, also ester C, make a big difference.
Here is a post from earlier in UGM history, from Starr.... Click This Link
Use Ani Flex GL. It has all the joint stuff already in it, and vitamin C and B. It is for horses, but is cheaper than buying all the vitamins and Glucosamine seperately. Sherilyn Allen always suggested Finish Line which is the same type of product but Aniflex seems to be cheaper. The dosage is two big scoops for horses over their food a day, so for the dogs we use one big scoop a day over their food. Here is the link and for one dog the 20 dollar size would last a while.
