Has anyone ever had thier neo's mimic other breeds? For example my bordeaux was raised with a chow mix (who has a curled tail) and over the years I have noticed that she when alert curls her tail up on her back. Well NOW my female neo is doing this!!!! I know that this isn't very exceptable for a neo in the show ring. Any ideas to stop her from doing this...other then seperating her from the other dogs.
It is very noticeable on dogs with undocked tails. Usually, when they move around, they elevate and curl the tail slightly above the topline just like a Anatolian Shepard dog, but this is incorrect for this breed.
I know and she has never done it....until yesterday when I was walking the four I looked down and there she is copying my two other females. When I practise stacking I will see if she does it and force it down and tell her to freeze and see if it works...although it seems to only happen when she walking.--or atleast yesterday thats when she did it. She's a timid girl so most of the time if she's nervous her tail will be very low, almost betwen her legs, unless she with the rest of the brady bunch
It makes me think of that picture of an ancient "mastiff." I saw it on the Pacific Northwest Neo site......In this chisled out picture (what it looked like to me) the dogs tail was curled....Anyone else know which picture I am talking about? [
I've seen the pic...not sure where but I know what your talking about. I tried to get a pic of them yesterday. It seems when she most alert and standing tall this is when its done. My three mastiff were standing at my fence and my girls tails were curled and my males was not-----I was trying to pic to post and show but the mesh from the fence made it to hazy
One of mine does this too- and now I have offspring that do it. Just push it down when they are stacked and give them your down or stay command. My handling trainer actually told me to have a stick and try and push it down while running around in practice too. Can you see me now?? Jeeze. _________________________ Nikki Agrippina Mastino
