Just watched westminster finals on oln and Valentino looked great,he was a great pick to represent the breed in the working class finals, I would have easily picked him over a few dogs that placed in top 4 but perhaps im a bit partial... I watched Westminster last night with my little local kennel club, and their reactions to the Neo was hilarious! These people are Afghan, Bulldog, Irish Setter, Poodle, Retriever people. They kept asking me, "What do you have?" Finally I said a Neapolitan-like the ice cream.
Well, Valentino came up and they were all just howling! "UHHH, OHHH No!, Look at those wrinkles, etc" Then he did his down and back, and my little group was aghast! "Look how it moves! How do you judge it?!" They decided they just 'didn't get it' Just like I see the Puli and think-oh no never for me-someone loves it.
What they didn't realize what their reaction and uncertainty to it, is exactly what would ward them off as intruders.
