Lava who has been with us for 12 months hasn't been to a lot of shows - but does rather well. Today she completed her Australian Championship title by winning BEST EXHIBIT IN GROUP and BEST OPEN IN GROUP giving her 25 points. She had in fact needed 24 to complete the title. The fact that she put up a paw to shake hands with the judge before being examined, then rising on her back feet with her paws on the judges shoulders to giver her a kiss - may or may not have helped - LOL To complete her day she is tonight in Sydney with Klaus competing in the NSW Dog of the Year Show - this is open only to dogs of all breeds who have won a Best In Show - which Lava did last may. We are so thrilled to have this lovely girl - who moves perfectly and has such character. Today she was also filmed for a documentary on Mastiff Breeds which may be shown throughout the world. Tomorrow she gets to relax and is going with us the the Fair Day at the Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras in Sydney to do PR for the breed. What a Girl.
Thanks Lynn - forgot to mention Aust Ch Maggiormente Cupid also did OK today and won best Australian Bred in Group. So this year so far we have done 3 shows, the dogs have won 3 classes in group, 1 Best in Group and a Sweepstakes placing - not bad for a rare breed and with 4 different dogs - we must be doing something right!
