John!!!! Many feed their dogs raw and others feed with cooked meat and rice, paste or kibble. Depending on the best buys at the supermarket or yor local butcher. Favourite meat for many is Chicken, that includes cacasses and necks and obviously the meat. Beef, Game, some feed pork and the tripe from the cow. I also feed Liver occasionally and depending on your dog some even eat green tripe. The bleached sort (white) my dogs tend to not like and they will eat many vegetables and like them mixed in. Potatoes and onion and tomatoes I do not include in their diet. Im sure others will add to this list
Nutro adult for lg breeds, chicken, turkey, cheddar cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, bread, peanut butter, livers, rice, pasta, raw bones, ani-flex gl
not all at once. nutro is the base with a variety of the other stuff mixed in fed threes times a day. usually gets 2 sandwiches with peanut butter or sandwich meat a day and a raw bone for a snack, and the ani-flex gl (1 scoop) every morning. Anthony
I feed my dogs twice a day and every other day a raw bone. I started out cooking for my two and because of that they wont eat anything raw other than bones. I stuck with the twice a day sometimes 3 small in summer due to heat I dont like food left behind so its better that way. Also they seem to enjoy more variety with the less more often approach. I am lucky I am home most days and dont work (well that could be disputed) so I do have time to do all this. How much depends on the dog really Charlie tends to eat more than Dakota but she makes up with eating more over the day. It seems to work for them. I never have a problem of one taking the others food either they dont seem to mind to share or go for whichever bowl is nearest.
We feed Iams large breed since about 1.5 years old. 1 of our puppy owners uses Eagle Pack, it's holistic and another owner uses Gold something in Canada{Mel tell her what you use} Of course she gets any veggies and meats for snacks, that we have for dinner. Tilburyfarms.com
